Frances "Fran" Giessinger, age 93, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at St. Williams Care Center in Milbank, SD. Family directed Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Bradley Community Center in Bradley, SD. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.
Visitation will be at the Bradley Community Center in Bradley, SD, on Monday from 1-2 p.m.
Burial will be at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Bradley, SD.
Frances was born June 8, 1931, in Elrod, S.D. to Clayton and Opal Ackley. The family moved to Bradley S.D. where she attended high school and Northern State Teachers College.
After college she married Lee Nash and the farmed for four years until the moved to Aberdeen S.D. Frances worked as a bookkeeper and substitute teacher. In 1959 they moved to Milbank, S.D. with their children, Wendell, Dwight, and William.
Frances and Lee divorced in 1961 and she married Duane Hamman. They were not married long when Duane was killed in a high-line accident. Fran married Ronnie Giessinger and was married eight years before they divorced.
Frances continued living in Milbank until 2009 when she moved to Wilmar M.N. In 2025, she moved back to Milbank where she passed away peacefully at St. Williams Hospice on May 21.
Fran is survived by her son Wendell of Wilmar, MN; daughter-in-law, Melissa Pulscher Nash of Watertown, SD; two sisters-in-law, Verla Ackley of Watertown, SD and Mo Ackley of Valley View, TX; brother-in-law, Burton (Carrie) Raymer of Bradley, SD; seven grandchildren, Dominique (Kim) Nash of Spicer, MN, Jesse Nash of Brooten, MN, Corey (Dina) Nash of Shoreview, MN, Alicia (Elliott) Wohlleber of Strandburg, SD, Keeghan Nash of Amarillo, TX, Jordan Nash of Amarillo, TX, Katie Nash of Watertown, SD; ten great grandchildren, three great great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Fran is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Orlin Neal, brothers Harold and Ken (Skip) Ackley, two sisters, Bernice Luvass and Colleen Raymer, sons Dwight and William Nash and grandson Mason Nash.
