Private memorial graveside services for Evelyn F. Sorby, age 95, of Watertown, SD will be on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Rev. Iver Possehl will officiate. Evelyn passed away on May 21, 2007 at a care center in Watertown, SD. She was the widow of Norval V. "Jub" Sorby. Crawford Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Evelyn was born on July 21, 1911 at Egan, SD to John L. and Anna U. (Gleason) Bridge. She graduated from high school in Waverly, SD. Following high school, she moved to Oregon and then to Redfield, SD. Evelyn married Norval V. "Jub" Sorby on December 3, 1949 at Redfield. Following their marriage, she worked as a store clerk and a waitress in Clark, SD. The couple farmed near Clark for many years. They moved to Lake Kampeska and then to Watertown, SD in 1989. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and helping people in various ways. Evelyn is survived by one sister, Grace Williamson of Albany, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers: Floyd, Lloyd, Joe, and Jim.
