Evelyn F. Miller, age 86, of Watertown, SD passed away on Sunday, June16, 2024 at Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Mark Tracy will officiate.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Saturday.
The family is requesting memorials to be given to the Glacial Lakes Humane Society and Shelter in Watertown.
Evelyn Faye Miller, daughter of Walter and Albina (Mednansky) Davis was born December 20, 1937, in Kadoka, South Dakota. She graduated from Raymond High School in 1955 and then attended college at Northern State in Aberdeen, SD for elementary education & psychology. She was united in marriage to Virgil Lynn Miller on August 18, 1966. Evelyn dedicated 20+ years to working at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.
Evelyn loved her cats Chloe & Sasha. She had an extensive collection of troll dolls and loved to continually add to them. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing Bunko with her friends and listening to older country music. Evelyn loved watching the Minnesota Twins on TV and going to go to games when possible. She especially cherished time spent with her family.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Shawn Miller of Florence, SD, and Kimberly (Ralph) Duke of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Kara (Richard) Herr of Watertown, SD; Michael (Shelby Bailey) Miller of Watertown, SD; Matthew (Dalaina) Miller of Hayti, SD; Kevin (Debbie) Miller of Aurora, SD; Jaxon Duke of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers Gerry (Donna) Davis of Aberdeen, SD; Donald (Virginia) Davis of Abilene, KS; and Duane Mowery of Spearfish, SD; and several great grandchildren: Kylie, Korri, Ellie, Ava, Bailey, Cameron, and Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; son, Brian; parents, Walter and Albina Davis; step-father, Bernard Mowery; sisters, Alyce Davis, Dorothy Moment, and Betty Habben; and grandson, Gavin.
