Celebration of Life Service for Dyleen (Severson) Henrikson age 81 of Arlington will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 30, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington. Officiating will be Pastor Alyssa Mitchell. Inurnment will be in the Arlington City Cemetery. Dyleen passed away July 31, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in De Smet.
Dyleen was born February 21, 1943 at Volga to Milo And Alice (Larson) Severson.
She was raised on a farm and attended a rural school. She graduated in 1961 from Arlington High School. After graduating she moved to Minneapolis, MN with some girls for a few months to work. She returned to South Dakota to get married.
Dyleen married Robert Henrikson on November 11, 1961. They farmed until October 1963 and then moved to Victorville, CA. She worked as an office manager and accountant until she had to retire in 1998 due to health reasons.
To this union two children were born, Danette Henrikson of Golden Valley, MN and a son Marlin Henrikson who died in January of 2015 from ALS.
Her husband Robert was in Sales so they moved a lot. They lived in Victorville, CA, Cerritos, CA, Bismarck, ND, and Napa Valley, CA. They retired in 1998 and moved back to Arlington, SD. They spent 6 months in the winter in AZ until 2020.
Dyleen many hobbies included reading, crafts, playing cards and doing crafts.
Dyleen is survived by her husband, Robert of Arlington, daughter, Danette of Golden Valley, MN, granddaughter Alysso Gilbert and 3 great grandsons, Skyler, Stephen and Samuel.
Dyleen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Deloen Severson and son, Marlin Henrikson.
