Dwight Nash, age 72, of Benson, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at a hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Benson, MN. Pastor Sherri Larson will officiate. After the service, a gathering will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Starbuck VFW Post 4582 in Starbuck, MN.
Visitation will be prior to the memorial service starting at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Bradley, SD, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Dwight was born in Webster, SD, on August 7, 1951. As a child he loved spending time on the family farm. He attended school in South Dakota and Oregon, graduating from Milbank High School in Milbank, SD. Dwight was a veteran who served in the US Navy from 1970 to 1974, with the Naval Construction Battalions (Seabees). Following his military service, he held a variety of jobs, including work in construction, agriculture, and fabrication. He was also a lifelong musician, playing bass guitar in several bands. Dwight enjoyed spending time with friends and family in many ways, including listening to records at home, taking vacations together, and attending live music events. He was also very proud to become a lifetime member at the Starbuck VFW.
He is survived by his son, Corey (Dina) Nash; three grandchildren, Griffin, Caden, and Rohan; his mother, Frances Giessinger; his father, Lee Nash; his brother, Wendell Nash; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Dwight was preceded in death by his brother, Will Nash.
Dwight will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his love for music, and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace.
