Doria M. Block

Doria M. Block, age 71, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.  Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Sara McManus will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Wednesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.

Doria was born May 8, 1953 in Watertown SD to Worley and Anne (Wells) Johnson. She was happily retired after spending too many years to count at Senior Max’s, a job that she loved….. to hate. 

Doria spent 56 years of her beautiful life with her soulmate, Mark R. Block. They got married April 29, 1972 at First United Methodist Church in Watertown. 

Doria and Mark had 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Anybody that knew Doria also knew that when she was around, laughter was shared in abundance. Nobody was ever safe from her one of a kind quick witted humor. She definitely was always the light in every room. 

Doria was preceded in death by her parents, Worley and Anne (Wells) Johnson, brothers Edward Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Loren Batien, sisters Lona Johnson and Ora Baiten Kent, and son Jeffrey Block. 

She is survived by her sisters Alice (Wendell) Bruns and Trudy (Dick) Mitchell-Bayne, brother Dave (Ester) Johnson, husband Mark R. Block, son Mark (Christal) Block, daughters Mona (Tony) Kampmann and Nicky (Archibald) Redwing as well as her 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
