Dorett Raml

Dorett Raml, age 87, of Watertown, SD, passed away on July 23, 2020, at Jenkins Living Center. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 10:30 at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, SD with Father Richard Fox as the celebrant.

Music will be provided by Helen Gollnick as organist and Steve

and Teri Raml as musicians.

The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:00 a.m. for a family prayer service. Visitation will be at Crawford- Osthus Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 27, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers will be Billy Larson, Killian Larson, Austin Brower, Curt Underhill, Nicholas Mack, and Lee Mack. Mary Dorett was born on October 16, 1932 in Watertown to William H. and Catherine Eva (Coyle) Trenholm. She attended Watertown schools and graduated from Watertown High School in 1950. She worked at various retail stores in Watertown including Kresge's Dime Store and Mahowald's Hardware.

She also worked for I.C. School and Parish. Dorett met Arvis Raml when he asked her to dance one night at Stoney Point. They continued to dance through life for the next 66 years. They married in a double wedding ceremony with Dorett's sister, Marylis, and her husband Gilbert Walford on June 8, 1954. They had five children, Steven, Cynthia, Timothy, Jolette, and Nicole. They raised their family in Watertown and Dorett was involved in many aspects of her children's activities and church activities. She served as a Brownie and Scout leader for many years, was active as a lay minister, greeter, and helped with the fall dinner at Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a member her entire life, having been baptized there in 1932. She and Arvis also assisted with K.C. socials, the Yellow Rose Committee and volunteered at Prairie Lakes Hospital. Dorett is survived by her husband of 66 years, Arvis of Watertown, SD; her children, Steve (Teri) Raml of Glendale, AZ, Cindy Underhill of Huron, SD, Tim (Cindy) Raml of Watertown, SD, Jody (Gregg) Brower of Rapid City, SD, and Nikki (Brent) Larson of Hayti, SD; nine grandchildren,

Curt (Cheri Johnson) Underhill of Pierre, SD, Leah (Nate) Kreifels of Bellevue, NE, Jayme (Tyler) Vetch of Mitchell, SD, Austin Brower of Rapid City, SD, Katie Raml of Watertown, SD, Aireal (Austin) Bruns of Hayti, SD and Billy, Killian, and Artemus Larson of Hayti, SD; four great-grandchildren, Reese, Jaxton, Judson and Kai;

brother-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Raml of Watertown, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, her parents, three sisters and five brothers.
