Dell J. Felstet, age 33, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from a motor vehicle accident near Watertown, SD. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Watertown First United Methodist Church. Rev. Bryce Blank will officiate. The funeral service will be live-streamed on our website.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Ching, Greg Comes, Arnie Dornbusch, Mike Woodraska, Matt Even, Chad Rausch, Matthew Rausch, and Mike Kelm.
Dell was born in Watertown to Brent and Julie Felstet on September 12, 1991. Dell was baptized at the Methodist church in Henry SD. Dell graduated from Henry High School in 2010.
After school he joined the work force and had several jobs through his early years. During the last several years he has worked for Swanson construction, Glacial Lakes Rubber and Plastic, and Dakota Bodies. He was currently employed with Home Town Builders.
Dell enjoyed being outside whether it was tending to his many plants or going fishing with his buddies. He also enjoyed helping his Dad on the farm with whatever needed to be done. Dell loved to paint, draw and use the embroidery machine. He loved growing tomatoes and peppers and digging in the garden with his Mom and Grandma. Dell also loved animals. He was very close to his sisters two dogs and cat and they also loved him. He also loved trying to tame the cats on the farm. His love of animals didn’t stop with dogs and cats he also loved bees. He never raised bees but he loved learning about beekeeping and always planned to start a hive of his own.
Everyone that knew Dell would tell you his smile was unforgettable. He would flash you that giant smile and a goofy laugh. He loved to joke around and make people laugh. He had a deep love for his Mom, sisters and nieces and was very protective of them. Dell’s smile and laugh will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Dell is survived by his mom and dad, Julia and Steve Rausch of Watertown, SD; sisters, Oriel (Ryan) Ching of Watertown, SD and Crystal (Jake) Hickerson of Bemidji, MN; his paternal grandmother, Audrey Rausch of Watertown; his paternal grandmother Doris Felstet, of Bemidji, MN; two nieces Mariedith Even and Aria Ching.
Dell was preceded in death by his sister Kayla Even his biological father Brent Felstet of Minnesota ; two maternal grandparents, Edith and Lyle Post and LeRoy Anderson; his paternal grandfather, Roger Rausch; his paternal grandfather, Wardell Felstet, and his uncles, Jason Anderson and Brian Felstet.
