Visitation will be at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Father John Fischer will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary Pallbearers will be DeWayne’s nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his five brothers: Jerry Jensen, Steve Jensen, Richard Jensen, Bob Jensen and Brian Jensen.
DeWayne was born on December 29, 1960, in Watertown, SD, to Harold and Virginia (Weber) Jensen. He attended Watertown High School. He married Karen Ewoski on February 18, 1984, in Denver, CO, and together they were blessed with two children, Nicole and Jeremiah.
DeWayne started at Crenlo (previously Angus Palm) as a welder in 1987, working in the Engineering Lab. The last 10 years he has been a Maintenance Technician and really enjoyed the position working with his hands.
He could build anything and would always find a project or two in his garage to work on. He was a grill master and loved trying new recipes. His favorite hobbies included: golfing, any type of fishing, hunting and border battles. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and very proud of the items he collected over the years to put in the Cowboy room.
He absolutely loved his grandson, Drake. They were two peas in a pod and when together they were inseparable. DeWayne enjoyed taking Drake on 4-wheeler rides, teaching Drake to fish and golf, and the many adventures they had together.
Although DeWayne could be headstrong, he had a huge heart and loved his family and cared deeply for his friends.
DeWayne is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Nicole (JR) Nuttbrock; grandson, Drake Nuttbrock; mother, Virginia Jensen; brothers: Steve (Dianne) Jensen, Jerry (Sue) Jensen, Richard (Cheri) Jensen, Bob (Monie) Jensen, and Brian (Lori) Jensen; sisters: Linda (Bob) Baker, Mary Ann (Warren) Wiesner, Diane (Ralph) Kluckman, Debbie (Van) Schwinger, and Teresa (Jerry) Goehring; and many nieces and nephews.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeremiah Jensen; father, Harold Jensen; mother-in-law, Mary Anne Ewoski; and his niece, Jill Block.
