Danny Hall Obituary

Danny Cyril Hall, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Watertown, South Dakota, on May 17, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. A Prayer Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

Food will be provided in Fellowship Hall during the Celebration of Life.

Danny was born on July 5, 1950, in Canova, South Dakota, and moved to Watertown shortly after. On January 20, 1968, he married his childhood sweetheart, Diane Marie Krueger, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and laughter.

Danny and Diane were proud parents of three children: Lisa, Jody, and Damon. In his later years, Danny shared his life with his beloved girlfriend, Alisha, whose companionship brought him great joy.

Danny was a devoted grandfather to Tiffany, Dustin, Claira, Duncan, and Adele, and a loving great-grandfather to Joella and Jacoby. He is also survived by his siblings, Marlene, Kevin, and Bobby Dean, who will miss him dearly.

A man of many passions, Danny was best known for his love of dirt track racing. He raced modifieds at the famous Casino Speedway, earning numerous victories and even a track championship. Off the track, he found joy in fishing—whether on ice or water—often saying it didn’t matter where he fished as long as he was doing it with friends or in peaceful solitude.

He also enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard, though he was quick to admit he had no patience for fixing lawn mowers. Friends and neighbors knew that if Danny’s shop garage door was open, it meant he had time to talk, laugh, and share stories—the kind of person who always made others feel welcome.

Danny is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Alisha; his children Lisa (Lonnie) Schlotte, Jody, and Damon; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Dustin, Claira, Duncan, and Adele; and his great-grandchildren, Joella and Jacoby. He is also survived by his siblings, Marlene, Kevin, and Bobby Dean.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Diane and his parents, Robert and Fern Hall.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the racing community that meant so much to him.

Danny’s legacy of laughter, friendship, and fierce love for his family will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
