Curtis R. Smith, age 51, of Watertown, SD, joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 6:05 p.m. after a courageous battle with stage 4 cancer.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Pastor Steve Ferguson will officiate.
Visitation will take place prior to services at the chapel on Saturday.
There will be a luncheon following the Memorial Service.
Curtis was born on August 28, 1963, at Sioux City, IA, and was adopted by Roger and Marilyn Smith of George, IA.
Curtis was the oldest of two children.
Curtis and his adopted sister, Sharon, were both raised in George and were strong in their religious beliefs.
After graduation, Curtis followed his adventurous, free spirit and traveled, living in several different places; seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of the world.
In July of 2005, Curtis met the love of his life, Aeneva, and to this union, a daughter, Torrie Rae Smith, was born.
Torrie was the apple of Curtis' eye, his gem, his princess.
He and Torrie were inseparable and loved spending as much time as they could together.
In 2014, Curtis began working for Watertown Ford Chrysler, where he gained more extended family than he ever expected and he was always grateful for each and every one in his "Watertown Ford" family. While working at Watertown Ford, Curtis built an amazing friendship with Brian Redwing and adopted him as a little brother.
He loved life and touched so many people with his laugh, smile and crazy sense of humor.
Curtis enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, tattoos and spending time with his loved ones and friends.
Grateful for lovingly sharing life with him are his bestfriend/soulmate, Aeneva, and his daughter, Torrie Rae, both of Watertown; his sister, Sharon (Ted) Mothershed, of Sioux City, IA; two nieces, Amber of Sioux City, IA, and Brittany of Omaha, NE; one nephew, Courtney of Omaha, NE; and his adopted brother, Brian (Nicola) Redwing, of Watertown.
Curtis has joined his mother, Marilyn; his father, Roger; and two infant sisters in heaven.
