Cody, age 37, of Deadwood, SD, formerly of Watertown, South Dakota passed away on September 14, 2025. Private family memorial services will be held at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
He was born on August 12, 1988, in Watertown, SD, to Todd and Lore (Mann) Ksenych. He was raised in Watertown, SD. He attended St. Martins Lutheran grade school, and graduated from Watertown High School in 2006. He enjoyed playing soccer and baseball throughout his childhood. Cody and Colton loved playing basketball, wearing their jerseys, riding three wheeler, and playing in the backyard. Cody found great joy in working on and restoring cars and motorcycles. After graduation he worked at Custom Fabricators where he welded for many years. The past 10 years he lived in Deadwood and worked at Jerry Greers Engineering.
A kind and gentle soul, Cody found joy in the simple beauty of life. He loved nature and could often be found walking outdoors, where he felt most at peace. He cherished time with his niece and nephews, whether playing soccer, baseball, or joining in whatever activities they imagined. His playful spirt and warm heart made him a beloved uncle and friend.
One of Cody’s favorite pastimes was caring for the wildlife around him. He especially delighted in befriending a hen Mallard, faithfully feeding her each day. He cherished the quiet moments of taking in the meadow’s wildlife.
He is survived by his parents, Todd and Lore Ksenych of Deadwood, SD; his brother Colton (Kylee) Ksenych of Watertown, SD; niece and nephews: Winston, Eleanor, Forrest, and Otis of Watertown, SD; grandmother: Lori Mann of Watertown, SD; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Nick and Phyllis Ksenych and Arlo Mann.
