Clarence Pillatzki

Clarence Pillatzki, age 61, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Revillo, SD passed away on April 11, 2023 in Milbank.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate. The funeral service will be live streamed via our website.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel prior to the services at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Nassau, MN at a later time.

Clarence was born on September 18, 1961, in Ortonville, MN on a cool autumn afternoon.  He grew up on a farm near Revillo, SD.  He attended school at Revillo, SD.  At the age of 18 years he moved to Watertown and joined the Atco Training Center, remaining with them for 43 years.  Clarence enjoyed the work and the time spent with his friends and co-workers.  He said his favorite activity at the center was lunch.

Clarence had a deep love for his family and called his brothers and sisters every week to check on them. His favorite memory was his yearly vacation when he rode with his brother in his semi-truck to different places in the United States.  Clarence talked about these trips often.

Clarence interests were family, cars, trucks, car races and music.  When he was able he would go to music night at the Salvation Army every Friday.  During earlier years Clarence and his brothers Steve did many things together. One of his accomplishment was introducing Steve to his future wife Elaine. 

Clarence is survived by three sisters, Mary Ann (Delvin) Benz, Brookings, SD, Susan Ebbers, Sioux Falls, SD, Diane Hall, Aberdeen, SD; two brothers, Willie (Paula) Pillatzki, LaBolt, SD, Steven (Elaine) Pillatzki, Sioux Falls, SD, and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert and Beryl (Douglas) Pillatzki.

We would like to thank the people of Atco for their many hours and years of kindness, attention and respect that was given to Clarence and his family. Thank you to all of his friends for your caring and attention.  We as a family will always remember and try to pass this on to others.  Clarence will be missed, but his example of sharing will remain with us. Thank you!
