Cindy R. Anderson, age 68, of Henry, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Watertown, SD.
Cindy was born February 23, 1958, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Dale Henry Bludorn and Ruth Margaret Solum Bludorn, and was raised in Florence, graduating from Florence High School in 1976. She had a kind, resourceful, optimistic, presence and a fun sense of humor. When diagnosed in 2018 with Neuroendocrine Cancer she kept that kindness and she endured so much so bravely during her final journey.
Cindy was a natural caretaker. She loved babies and children and was a family day care provider for decades. She then worked at the Drake Motor Inn and the Super 8 and was praised continually for her hard work and attention to detail.
Cindy met her great love, Steve Anderson, in uptown Florence, and they married in Aberdeen on June 8, 1986. They lived in Henry, where she enjoyed yardwork, especially her flowers in the spring and summer. She loved animals, feeding every stray cat, and even rescuing an orphaned litter of raccoons through the winter in her garage. Hummingbirds loved to visit her feeders and flourished around her yard. Cindy and Steve were so happy and they were recently blessed to celebrate their Fortieth Anniversary.
She is survived and forever revered by her beloved husband Steve, her children, Lisa Bludorn, Amy Schmahl, and Josh Anderson; her grandchildren, Emma, Liam, Levi, Cruz, and Eden; and her siblings, Rich Bludorn (Karen), Tom Bludorn (Charlene), and twins, Larry and Jerry Bludorn.
She is now rekindling precious relationships with those who preceded her to heaven, her parents, her sister, Pat; her grandparents; and many others. The world will never know a sweeter soul than Cindy.
Come and celebrate her life with us on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Home, 1311 4th Street NE, Watertown. Luncheon will follow, with burial afterward at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark.
Pallbearers are Brad Maynard, Jackson Maynard, Patrick Maynard, Larry Bludorn, Jerry Bludorn, and Dave Bludorn.
