Catherine "Cathy" J. Bouskill

Catherine "Cathy" J. Bouskill, age 71, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at a local hospital.  Visitation will be held at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Cathy was born on July 19, 1952, in Mitchell, SD, to Robert and Joanne (Smart) Murphy.  She attended school in Mitchell and Watertown, graduating from WHS with the class of 1970.  Following her education, Cathy moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she started her accounting career.  She moved to southern California for 30 years, moving back to Watertown, SD, in 2004.  She worked at Premier Bank Card and Doc’s Vending. 

Cathy enjoyed having coffee with her friends, especially with her special friend Evie Zaug.  She enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with family. She was very close with her nephew Jesse Kern who she practically raised as her own son.  Cathy was known to her family as the “Head Elf.”

Cathy is survived by four brothers, Mike (Sharmell) Murphy, of Watertown, SD, Patrick (Barbara) Murphy, of Atlanta, GA, Doug (Janet) Murphy, of Hartford, SD, and Thomas Murphy, of Euless, TX; one sister Janice Oaks, of Watertown, SD; one sister-in-law, Karen Murphy, of Rapid City, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews which she loved so much.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Richard Murphy; and two sister-in-law’s, Kris Murphy and Valerie Murphy.
