Carol Fox

Carol Jean Fox, 81, of De Smet, SD, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell, SD.

Born on December 30, 1943, in Mitchell, South Dakota, Carol was the beloved daughter of Melvin and Vera Moe. She grew up in Ethan, SD, and graduated from Ethan High School, where she formed lifelong friendships.

After high school, Carol moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she met the love of her life, Jerry Bloomstrand. They married on March 18, 1967, and shared 36 wonderful years together until Jerry’s passing in December of 2003. During their marriage, Carol and Jerry moved to De Smet, SD, where Carol dedicated many years working at the Kingsbury Courthouse. Together, they embraced the outdoors, spending countless days hunting, fishing, and sharing laughs over card games with friends.

Later in life, Carol found love again and married Dean Fox of Clark, SD. Together, they enjoyed winters in Texas, where they made cherished memories traveling and soaking up the sunshine.

Carol was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan, and she found immense joy in the companionship of her beloved dog, Tex, who was always by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Vera Moe; her first husband, Jerry Bloomstrand; her brother, Larry Moe; and sister-in-law, Cathy Moe.

Carol is survived by Dean Fox; her brothers Loren Moe of Crest Hill, IL, and Brad (JoAnn) Moe of Rock Valley, IA; many nieces and nephews who adored her; and her loyal dog, Tex.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
