Bruce Williamson Obituary

Bruce A. Williamson, age 67, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Visitation and Memorial services will take place at the chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m.

Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Saturday by 3:00 p.m. for a family prayer service. We invite you for food and a time to share memories with us at ‘Sassy's On Broadway' after the services. Bruce has requested to be cremated and his burial will be at the Doland Cemetery in Doland, SD at a later date. Bruce was born on April 15, 1953, in Doland, SD, to Charles "Chuck" and Delores (Ragels) Williamson.

He attended and graduated from Doland High School.

Following graduation, Bruce was married to Rhonda Thome and had 2 children, Chad and Chris. Bruce began working in the construction business. He worked for Northern Improvement where he assisted in building interstates. After many years of experience and being on the road, he later began his own concrete construction plant in Watertown.

Bruce then began working in the body and car restoration business and currently owned his own auto body shop.

He took great pride in his business and loved his work.

Bruce is known to most as the jack of all trades. He was full of energy like no other and loved to work.

He has many stories of taking things that were in rough shape and fixing them up. Outside of work, Bruce could be found hanging out with his friends at the local pubs where he loved to play pool and create his many laughable memories. He loved to watch Nascar on Sundays and was often at the local dirt track watching his son race. One of the best attributes about Bruce was how easily he would stop what he was doing and take the shirt off his back to help not only friends but random people. We always saw him as a caretaker and often called him ‘Papa Smurf'. Bruce is survived by his children, Chad Williamson and Chris (Jessica) Williamson both of Watertown, SD; two grandchildren, Ryder Parmley and Reznor Williamson; and his brother, Melvin (Lynette) Williamson of Doland, SD. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delores Williamson; his brother, Ronnie Williamson; and his sister, Connie Farris.
