Brenda Pahl Obituary

Brenda L. Pahl, age 51, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her residence.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.  Father Richard Baumberger will be the celebrant.  Pallbearers will be Bryce Brenden, Matt Giebler, Brady Gilliland, Cory Glieden, Landon Pahl, and Riley Schulz.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Brenda was the third born child of Benjamin and Gladys (Blumberg) Pahl on January 26th, 1972, in Shakopee, MN.  When she was around 5 years old, they relocated to Watertown, SD, where Brenda went on to spend the majority of her life.  Brenda also spent time living in Rapid City for a couple of years before moving back to Watertown.  Brenda enjoyed spending time outside with her siblings and cousins growing up.  Brenda also spent many countless days with her best friend, Kim Hurkes.

While attending school in Watertown, SD, Brenda was a talented student and often found herself on the Honor Roll.  She also found pride in being a member of the school band while playing her clarinet.  After high school, Brenda went on to attend Lake Area Technical Institute and later the University of South Dakota studying registered nursing.  Brenda dedicated many years of her life as an RN to helping patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Her career began at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD, and later she went on to work for Sanford Clinic, formerly Bartron Clinic.  Brenda found passion in helping care for those that were unable to care for themselves.  Brenda later found herself as a housewife, running her children to their many sports and school activities. Brenda was married to Mark Kranz in 1992 and had three children with Mark: Ashley, Cassandra, and Adam.  After their divorce, she married Michael Boerger in 2004. Brenda and Mike share one daughter, Lisa, together.  Brenda's children and grand-children were her pride and joy.  Her favorite days were spent lounging with her kids, grandkids, and dogs watching murder mystery TV shows.  Brenda was an avid dog lover and cherished many memories with her dogs over the years.  Her favorite place to visit was her sister's "Puppies on the Prairie" farm.

Brenda will be remembered by her children for her big heart, spunky personality, bright colored socks, love for all things Elvis Presley and Randy Moss, her unwavering love for her family, beautiful brown hair and eyes, care-free spirit, and  her undeniable passion for jamming to music in her headphones (often way too loud).

Brenda will be greatly missed by her parents, Benjamin and Gladys Pahl; her husband, Michael Boerger; four children, Ashley (Bryce) Brenden, Cassandra Kranz, Adam Kranz, and Lisa Pahl; three grand-children, Wyatt, Grayson, and Easton Brenden; three siblings, Lisa Meyer, Benji (Nicole) Pahl, and Wendy (Matt) Giebler; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Brenda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin Sr. and Marie (Marion) Pahl and Edward & Ethel Blumberg.
