Brenda J. Brandenburger, age 67, of Revillo, SD, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Holy Name Jesus Church in Watertown. Father John Fischer will be the celebrant.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Monday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown at a later date. Active pallbearers will be Kyle Pillatzke, Nathaniel Valberg, Adam Valberg, Scott Schieber, Kendra Urban, and Michelle Stewart.
Brenda was born on April 13, 1956, in Watertown, SD, to Donald G. and Joyce E. (Dahl) Pieschke. She attended first grade at the Fairview County School before attending school in Henry and then Watertown, graduating in the class of 1975.
On August 28, 1976, Brenda married James E. Pillatzke in Watertown, SD. The couple raised their two children in Watertown. Brenda worked at Mellette Elementary School for a few years. James passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 1995. Brenda then married Allen Brandenburger on April 21, 2007.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church. She enjoyed drawing, knitting, sewing, embroidery work, camping, hiking, gardening, and square dancing.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Allen, of Revillo, SD; children Kari Pillatzke and Keith Pillatzke, both of Watertown, SD; step-children, Scott (Nora) Brandenburger, Julie (Morris) Persson, Tresa (David) Wangler, and Lauri (Barry) Bonneali; siblings, Cindilou Shepherd, of Deltona, FL, Viviane (Larry) Valberg, of Circle Pines, MN, Deanna (Dennis) Schieber, of Clear Lake, SD, Delbert Pieschke (Barb McBrien), of Clear Lake, SD, and Vergean (Larry) Steen, of Watertown, SD; nine step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her first husband James; her parents; several aunts and uncles.
