Bonnie E. Butters

Bonnie E. Butters, age 78, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Avantara Arlington, in Arlington, SD. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Steve Ferguson will officiate. Music will be provided by Steve and Kathy Ferguson as vocalists. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:30 a.m. for a family prayer service.

Visitation will be at the chapel on Thursday, prior to the service, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zack Butters, Larry Hegg, Paul Corson and Pete Peterson.

Bonnie was born on February 16, 1944, to Kenneth and Alma (Hanson) Torvik, in Portland, Maine. On August 8, 1963, Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Butters at a country church in Ft. Dodge, IA. She did babysitting in Ft. Dodge and later started her own business, Corner Cake Shop, where she baked cakes and cookies for over 10 years. The couple moved to Watertown and Bonnie worked at Dakota Poultry and later as a homemaker.

She was a member of Lutheran Church in Iowa and attended Family Worship Center Foursquare Church in Watertown. She enjoyed baking, knitting, quilting, housecleaning and taking care of elderly people.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bob of Watertown, SD; her children, Kimberly Butters of Watertown, SD and Amanda (Paul) Corson of Vermillion, SD; three grandchildren; and one brother, Daniel (Glinda) Torvik of Memphis, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
