Bonita Sharp Obituary

Bonita J. Sharp, age 73, of Henry, SD, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.  Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Clark United Methodist Church in Clark, SD.  Pastor Rob Salmonson will officiant.  Music will be provided by Pat Seefeldt as organist and Brian Hull as vocalist.  The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be at Lorinda Cemetery at a later date. Honorary urn bearers will be Trinity, Taylor, Teagan Watson, Karli and Kylynn Sharp.

Bonita was born on September 24, 1951, to Robert and Betty (Shirk) Keyes in Watertown, SD.  She attended Happy Home #9 through 8th grade. Then she attended Henry High School, graduating with the class of 1969.  After high school she attended Northern State University for Accounting for one year.

On March 27, 1971, Bonita married Danny Sharp in Clark, SD at the Clark United Methodist Church.  The couple lived in Henry until moving out to the farm in the spring of 1977.  Bonita worked for Austin Law until Nicky was born in 1975.  Joe was born in 1979.  She was a stay-at-home mom, raising 2 kids until she went to work at the ASCS office in 1981.  She continued to work there until she retired 30 years later.

Bonita was a faithful member of the Henry United Methodist Church and a member of Women of Joy in the church.  She enjoyed gardening, camping, growing flowers, having coffee with her friends in Henry and many lunch dates with friends in Watertown and with cousins in Clark. She enjoyed helping out on the farm and especially loved calving in the spring and checking on them many times a day. She always looked forward to the finches showing up in the spring.  She thoroughly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many sporting events, school activities and spending time with her family.

Bonita will be deeply missed by her husband, Danny, of Henry, SD; one daughter, Nicky (Troy) Watson, of Henry, SD; one son, Joe (Nicole) Sharp, of Henry, SD; five grandchildren, Trinity, Taylor, Teagan Watson, Karli and Kylynn Sharp; one brother, Don (Monica) Keyes, of Blaine, MN; one sister-in-law, Donna (Jim) Frauenberg, LaMoure, ND; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bonita was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Betty; one sister, Gayla Keyes; father and mother-in-law, Bobbie and Arlene Sharp; brother-in-law, Donnie Sharp; and sister-in-law, Debbie Sharp.
