Betty Lou Glosimodt, 86, of Watertown, South Dakota, went home to the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at The Village at Harmony Hill in Watertown, surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Watertown, SD. Pastor Janine Rew-Werling and Pastor Craig Werling will officiate. Music will provided by Angie Eickmeyer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown and prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be Mitch Hanes, Amanda Kannas, Will Carlson, Cole Carlson, Jeff Carlson, Jake Welch, Alec Welch, and Nick Welch.
Born on October 27, 1938, in Webster, South Dakota, Betty (Kuecker) Glosimodt was the daughter of Edwin “Dadan” and Lillian Kuecker. She graduated from Webster High School and earned a degree in education from Northern State Teachers College. Betty began her teaching career in Brentford and Brookings, South Dakota.
On June 24, 1960, she married Jim Glosimodt. In 1961, they purchased Nicol Floral and Gifts in Watertown and later founded Sioux Valley Floral and Greenhouse. Together, they operated the business until their retirement.
Betty was a devoted member of her faith and community. She was actively involved in Hosanna Lutheran Church and participated in numerous organizations including the Watertown Chamber of Commerce, Codington County Historical Society, Joy Ranch, Saddle Up, PEO, and 4-H. She held certifications as an FTD Certified Florist and a South Dakota State University Master Gardener. Her passion for horses and family brought joy to her life and those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Jim; daughters Pam (Don) Hanes of Watertown, Jan (Barry) Welch of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Cindy (KC) Carlson of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Edwin Jr., MaryAnne, Charles, John, Paul, David, and Roger.
