Bernice Clark

Bernice A. Clark, 75, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Randy Eisenbeisz will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Thursday by 1:30 p.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Thursday. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be Charlie Kraai, Bobby Hall, Travis "Bam Bam" Grove, Todd Wittmeier, Darren Beskow, and Dean Thiewes. Bernice was born on November 23, 1943, to Thomas and Barbara (Raml) Troska in rural Troy, SD. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1962. Bernice then would work for Minnesota Dakota Ag processing and packaging eggs before working at Quadee. Most notably, Bernice worked for many years at the Super 8 Motel, and as a Residential Specialist at the Human Service Agency. She continued working part-time at Sodexo, cleaning at the hospital until her retirement. Bernice loved watching the bands at the Thursday Night Live concerts in Watertown. She enjoyed fishing, driving around, going to rummage sales and thrift stores, and celebrating the Fourth of July with her family. Bernice was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

She will be remembered for her humbleness, patience, generosity, her outstanding cooking abilities, and for being a friend to all. Bernice is survived by her children, Jim (Delia) Clark, of South Dakota and Theresa (Corwin) Namken, of Hayti, SD; four grandchildren: Kaylee Namken, of Vermillion, SD, Thomas Clark, of South Shore, SD, Louison Clark, of Watertown, SD, and Rick Clark, of Watertown, SD; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Charlotte) Troska, Sr., of Watertown, SD; two sisters, Donna (Gail) Gieser, of Clear Lake, SD, and Teresa (John) Homan, of Watertown, SD; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Troska, of Clear Lake, SD. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tim; her grandson, Charles "Chuckie"; her brother, Jim, her infant brothers, Harold and John; and her four legged companions, Buddy and Dutchess.
