Bernetta Nelson of Lake Preston, South Dakota passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on March 13th at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Arlington, SD.
Private Burial at Lake Preston City Cemetery.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and caring sister. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her love and support touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she shared with those around her. Her family was the center of her life, and her legacy will live on through them.
Throughout her life, she worked hard and always put those she loved first, offering support, guidance, and unconditional love.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her love, guidance, and warmth shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her legacy will continue through the family she cherished so dearly. Those who knew her will always carry her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by her children: Brenda (Stan), Brad (Tammy), Brian, and Blaine; her cherished grandchildren: Anthony, Sarah, Andrew (Kjersten), Colin (Gabrielle), and Taylor; and her adored great-grandchildren: Ryan, Ivan, and Colter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; her parents, Merwin and Arlet Wilde; and her brother, Bernell Buckmaster.
