Aria Wellman Obituary
Aria Lynn Wellman (Princess Aria) a sick little girl with a huge fighting spirit, age 3 months, passed away on August 1st, 2019, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the beautiful daughter to Garrett and Ashley (Gruenwald) Wellman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.
Father Paul Rutten will be the celebrant.
Music will be provided by Helen Gollnick.
The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday August 5, 2019, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.
A private family burial will take place on which would have been Aria's 4 month birthday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be Aria's grandfathers, Randy Gruenwald and John Wellman.
Aria was born on April 6th, 2019 in Sioux Falls, SD. Princess Aria survived an extremely rare pregnancy and blessed this world at only 28 weeks old, weighing 2lbs 8oz with a length of 13inches. She spent her precious life hospitalized in Sioux Falls, SD and her life ended exactly where she wanted, in the Sanford Castle.
She battled a diaphragm eventration, which made it difficult for her to breath. Aria may have been battling an illness, but her feisty, sweet spirit kept her going!
Aria will be remembered for those big beautiful eyes staring up at mom and dad, filling up a lot of diapers, loving physical therapy, wearing her silly head gear constantly, sucking away at her pacifier, staring up at her mobile and her determination that kept her fighting, but most of all being the ultimate sweetheart.
Aria is survived by her loving parents, Garrett (Ashley) Wellman; grandparents: Randy (Karen) Gruenwald and John (Cindy) Wellman; great-grandparents, Willie (Patty) Gruenwald and Robert (Rita) Angell; aunts and uncles: Mike (Ikea) Gruenwald, Aaron (Michelle) Gruenwald, Malissa (Tate) Teveldal, Jenny (Les) Blotsky, Austin Wellman, Casey Wellman, Logan Wellman; cousins: Sterling, Sawyer, Adelyn, Nash, Sloane, Teagan, Trace and Miles.
Aria was preceded in death by her great-grandparents:
Rollie (Arlene) Foster and Andrew (Florine) Wellman; uncle, Christopher Wellman; great-aunt, Carol Lundholm and cousin, Corey Schoepp.
