Sandy Molengraaf Obituary

Sandy A. Molengraaf, age 57, of Clear Lake, SD, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Pastor Terry Drew will officiate.

Burial will take place at a later date. Sandy was born on September 7, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Harlan Schake and Toni Martinek.

She grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School. On April 15, 1995, Sandy married Ron Molengraaf in Castlewood, SD, and together they raised six children.

Sandy loved music and in her early years was a member of a band, where she was the lead singer.

No matter what Sandy was doing, the radio was always going. Her love for music was passed down to each of her children.

Sandy was a wonderful employee who held various jobs where she could care for others.

She worked at the Estelline Care Center, Larson Manufacturing and Tech Ord.

Her true calling was working next to Ron on the farm, bottle-feeding the baby calves.

Sandy had many hobbies which included: drawing/coloring, writing quotes, puzzles and watching various reality and sci-fi TV shows.

Sandy took great pride in her grandchildren.

She loved to spoil each one and then send them back home with their parents. She fought long and hard just to watch each of them grow. Sandy is survived by her husband, Ron of Clear Lake, SD; her children: Dean (Megan) Konshak of Huron, SD, Harlan (Dorothy) Konshak of Vancouver, WA, Kacy (Jordan) Reiner of Ortonville, MN, Raymond Barratt, Brittany Barratt, Malcom Barratt (Crystal Pfeifer) all of Watertown, SD; three brothers: Kendall (Brenda) Schake, Kyle (Jenae) Schake both of Clear Lake, SD, and John Martinek of Cedar Rapids, IA; three sisters: Debbie Rodriguez of Laguna Hills, CA, Connie (Rick) Nielsen of Clear Lake, SD and Angie (Pete) Hall of Harvard, IL; and 19 grandchildren and her step-father, Daniel (Susan) Martinek, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Patricia Ulrich; and her brother, Tommy Schake.
