***PLEASE NOTE DATE OF SERVICES*** Ronald Dean Dickson, age 71, of Lake Norden, SD, joined our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 11, 2018, when he passed away at the care center in Lake Norden, SD. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Norden. Pastor David Patterson will officiate.
The family is requested to meet at the church on Saturday by 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lake Norden.
Honorary pallbearers will be the people of the Lake Norden area who loved and supported Ron throughout his life. Ronald was born on December 10, 1946 in Watertown, SD to Melvin Dickson and Irene (Anderson) Dickson. He attended school in Lake Norden. Ron served as custodian of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 30 years. In addition, he worked at odd jobs helping many people in the Lake Norden area.
Ron proudly lived his entire life in the rural Lake Norden area.
He has made his home at the Lake Norden Care Center since 2010. Ron was baptized at First Lutheran Church, now Trinity Lutheran Church, where he continued as a life-long member. Ron loved reading farming magazines, listening to country western music and driving through the country, checking on crops. He also enjoyed learning and researching information on the internet and sharing his knowledge with others. Ron is survived by his sister, Phyllis (Steve) Ehmke of Kansas City, MO; two nieces, Erin Prideaux (Sean) and Amy Wells (Jon); and 1 grandniece, Noelle Prideaux; and 4 grandnephews, Michael Prideaux, and Riley, Jack and Devin Wells.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Irene, who have been patiently waiting for him to join them.
