Mary Jo Lang age 74, of Watertown, South Dakota passed away February 2, 2019 at her home in Watertown. Private Family Services will be held with burial at the Fairview Cemetery, Lane, SD. Mary Jo was born in Mitchell, South Dakota to Orlo and Evelyn (Selland) Clark. She graduated from Letcher High School. Mary Jo married Dale Lang on November 10, 1961. They made their homes in Mitchell, Alexandria, Huron and Wolsey, South
Dakota.
While in Huron Mary Jo waitressed for four years while Dale attended Huron College. They also had homes in Twin Falls, Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls, Idaho, Mesa and Queen Creek, Arizona, later returning to Watertown, South Dakota. Mary Jo spent a large part of her career in the restaurant business. From a young age she lived above her parents restaurant in Letcher, South Dakota. Mary Jo had a coffee shop at the Coeur d'Alene Golf Course as well as the Whistle Stop Cafe and the Coach House Banquet Rooms in Idaho. If that wasn't enough, she also sold insurance, did home appraisals and interior design. Mary Jo loved her coffee breaks and sweet roll. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, ceramics and crafts. Raised in a cafe, Mary Jo loved her homes.
Dale built 12 of them for her. Mary Jo is survived by her husband Dale, Watertown, SD; one daughter Kimberly (Dan) Worthington of Watertown, South Dakota. Grandchildren Thomas Lang of Post Falls, Idaho, Eric (Amber) Worthington of Watertown, and Stephanie Worthington of Watertown, and 5 great grandchildren. Mary Jo was Proceeded by her father Orlo Clark, mother Evelyn (Selland) Clark, brother Larry, sister Donna Dooley, daughter Susan Rae, and son Marty James.
