What To Do
Leon Duane “Butch” Kimlicka passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 following a short battle with complications from a prior surgery. Butch’s wishes were to be cremated followed by a private celebration of life service. The son of Leo “Bud” and Marthann (Shevlin) Kimlicka, Butch was born on October 7, 1949 in Redfield, SD. He lived his entire life in the Redfield community, enjoying every summer at the family cabin at Cottonwood Lake.
Graduating from Redfield High School in 1967, Butch then began his life-long career in automotive repair. Soon after, he married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Lynn Pribble. To this 50 year union, 3 children were born—a daughter, Marie, and two sons, Josh and Jeremiah.
Butch was most known professionally through his affiliations with the Redfield Sales Co., his own service station, Butch’s Service, and in later years, as a bus driver and Transportation Director for the Redfield School District.
Butch was avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gun collecting. His family will cherish the many memories made through the years at the lake cabin Butch helped his parents and grandparents build as a child in 1952.
Grateful for having shared in Butch’s life are his wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Marie, her husband, Kurt, and their children: Kason (Sarah), Cody, Gabrielle, Wylie, and Emma (Cory); and his son, Jeremiah, his wife, Sara, and their children: Cruz and Curry.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Marthann, and is no doubt spending his days in Heaven, hunting and fishing with father, Leo, and his son, Josh.
