Johanna Schull Obituary
Johanna "Jo" Schull, of Watertown SD passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church.
Reverend Paul Janke will officiate.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m.
The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday for a family prayer service.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jo's grandchildren: Mark Feeney, Brian Feeney, Kyle Schull, Matt Landes, Kathryn Henry, Kari Poehls and Collin Schull. Jo was born on December 2, 1922, to Rudolph and Anje (Heemeyer) Saathoff, in Deuel County, SD.
She graduated from Castlewood High School and attended Watertown Business College.
She married Lester Schull on July 18, 1942.
They celebrated 58 wonderful years together before Les passed away in 2000.
Together they worked to develop and grow Schull Construction Company adding Building Products Inc. (BPI) in 1965. Jo was active in the community working with the Women's Auxiliary at Memorial Hospital and with the women's groups at St. Martins.
She also enjoyed working with her hands, excelling at embroidery and ceramics.
She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and was committed throughout her lifetime to loving and nurturing her family, her children and her grandchildren. Jo is survived by her children: Nancy (Ed) Landes of Tucson, AZ and Lee (Jan) Schull of Watertown, SD; seven grandchildren: Mark (Monica) Feeney, Brian (Bristol) Feeney, Kyle (Chelsea) Schull, Matt (Kristin) Landes, Kathryn (David) Henry, Kari (Kyle) Poehls, Collin Schull and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Les; her daughter, Doreen; her infant daughter, Kathryn and her son-in-law, Doug Feeney. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the ALS Association of South Dakota, 1919 University Ave West, St. Paul, MN. 55104, or the St. Martin's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
