Frances "Frankie" M. WalkerAugust 29, 1934 ~ June 27, 2017 (age 82)
Frances M. “Frankie” Walker, age 82, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Jerod Jordan will officiate. Music will be provided by A. J. Sherrill as organist.
Visitation will be at the chapel on Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
Burial will take place at the Oldham City Cemetery in Oldham, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be the Foley Garden Club. Active pallbearers will be Frankie’s sons: Randy, Lanny, Ron, David and Daniel.
Frankie was born on August 29, 1934, in Oldham, SD, to Frank and Marie (Rosenberry) Bickett. She was a 1952 graduate of Madison High School, Madison, SD. On June 13, 1953, she married Ronald Walker in Pipestone, MN. The couple moved to Arlington, SD, where she worked for the radio station and then at the Arlington School System. In 1971, the couple moved to a farm near Watertown. Frankie began working at Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown and worked their until she retired. After Ron passed away in 1989, she moved into town.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Foley Garden Club, the Birthday Club and the Red Hat Club. She was also a member of the Oldham Cemetery Board. Her hobbies included gardening and antiquing. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of having five boys under the age of five.
Frankie is survived by her sons: Randy (Carol) Walker of Green River, WY, Lanny (Connie) Walker of Fort Benton, MT, Ron Walker of Clark, SD, David Walker of Minnetonka, MN, and Daniel (Patty) Walker of Watertown, SD; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Deloris (Lyman) Overski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her parents; and two sisters.
