Eva Migge Obituary
Eva D. Migge, age 83, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 at the local hospital in Watertown.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel, Watertown.
Pastor Jerod Jordan will be officiating.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. with a 5:15 p.m. prayer service at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel, Watertown.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary urn bearers are Eva's grandchildren. Active urn bearers will be Chris Migge and Jennifer Schnoebelen.
Eva was born on October 4, 1935, in Konigsberg, Germany to Herbert and Charlotte (Loschke) Seeger. Eva grew up in Germany/Poland and recalls being 10 years old when the war broke out. Ask any of her children/grandchildren and they can tell you about the stories of her hiding in barns or under hay when the Russians came in. In 1957, the Lutheran Church in Madison, SD sponsored Eva and her family and they made their home in Madison until 1968.
They then moved to Watertown and between then and 1977, Eva would often travel back and forth between California and Watertown.
Eva loved to travel and when she wasn't waitressing, you found her knitting, sewing or working on some arts & craft project.
Eva owned and operated Grandma Love's Doll Hospital and Gift Shop along with the North Maple Pet Shop.
She loved ceramics and enjoyed most working with her daughter Sylvia at Klein's in downtown Watertown.
Eva was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.
Eva is survived by her children: Alfred (Linda) Migge of Watertown, SD and Wolfgang (Mary) Migge of Watertown, SD; one brother, Peter Seeger of Germany; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and one special cat Smokey.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sylvia; granddaughter Shannon, sister Lolo, and brother Gunther Seeger.
