Elden Hemme Obituary
Elden F. Hemme, age 90, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at his residence. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Pastor Dan Ofstehage will officiate. Music will be provided by Robbyn Givens as soloist accompanied by A.J. Sherrill . The family is requested to meet by 1:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
Elden was born on March 28, 1928, to Gustav and Emma (Rolfs) Hemme, in Kenneth, MN. He graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls before enrolling at the University of Minnesota Ag. Elden then graduated from Nettelton Business School.
On October 7, 1951, Elden was united in marriage to Berdeva Larsen in Worthington, MN. In 1954 he was employed by the Yankton PCA. The couple moved to Watertown in 1964 where Elden managed the Production Credit Office, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, where he served on various church boards. Elden was a board member of Memorial Hospital and Prairie Lakes. He also served in various capacities on state and district levels for the Production Credit Association.
His life has been a blessing and he is loved beyond words.
Elden is survived by his wife, Berdeva of Watertown, SD; his children, Susan Hill of Watertown, SD and Ann Shea of Dripping Springs, TX; three grandchildren, Sarah (Shawn), David, and Zach; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Lukas, and Ivan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Emma Hemme and his step-mom, Hazel Hemme.
