Delores Hartley Obituary
Delores K. Hartley, age 86, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at a local care center.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Visitation will be prior to the services at the chapel on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Jesse Hurkes will officiate.
Music will be provided by A.J. Sherrill as organist. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 10:30 a.m. for a prayer service. Burial will be at the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, SD.
Pallbearers will be Chad Stevens, Jason Maynard, Josh Maynard, Brandon O'Neill, Juston O'Neill and Landon Stevens. Delores was born on January 30, 1932, to Emmett and Berniece "Dolly" (Grewe) Johnson in Watertown. She graduated from Henry High School in Henry, SD. In 1968, Delores married Harold "Hab" Hartley in Milbank, SD. Together, they lived and farmed north of Henry until 1992. After retiring from farming, they moved to Lake Kampeska. In 1998, Hab passed away and Delores continued to live at the lake for many years until moving into Watertown. Delores was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church and the church auxiliary. She attended Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown. She enjoyed painting, reading, and crocheting. Delores' faith was important to her. She attended bible study and enjoyed reading her Bible, especially the Gospel of John. Delores is survived by her children: Karleen (Larry) Stevens, of Lake Poinsett, SD, Connie (John) Maynard, of Clark, SD, Kathy Christiansen, of Sioux Falls, SD, Rick (Connie) Hartley, of Watertown, Karrie (Dan) O'Neill, of Watertown, Ron (Elizabeth) Hartley of Henry, SD, and Ryan (Carrie-Anne) Hartley, of Watertown; her sister, Sharyl (Fred) Sauer, of Watertown; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hab Hartley; her daughter, Karol; two brothers and one sister.
