Daryl Hopkins Obituary
Daryl G. Hopkins, age 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Daryl was born on February 7, 1951, in Aberdeen, SD, to Russel and Verna (Goldhorn) Hopkins.
He attended and graduated from Watertown High School in 1969. On March 13, 1977, Daryl married Linda Hunter in Canton, SD.
The couple made their home in Watertown where Daryl worked for UBC for a time before working for the City of Watertown as a foreman for the Waste Water Department.
He retired in 2016. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He liked being outside and working on his yard.
Daryl was a handyman and found joy in projects around the house. Daryl is survived by his wife, Linda of Watertown, SD; his children: Sarah Hopkins of Hayti, SD, Brian (Steph) Hopkins of Hayti, SD, Kevin Hopkins of Watertown, SD, Keith (Amy) Hopkins of Bradley, SD, Nicole Hopkins of Watertown, SD, and Matthew Hopkins of Watertown, SD; five grandchildren; and his father-in-law, Kenny Hunter of Hayti, SD. Daryl is preceded in death by three sons: Steven, Eric and Adam; his parents; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Hunter.
