Dale Brekke Obituary

Dale R. Brekke, age 64, of Watertown, SD, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown.

Rev. Janet Miller will officiate.

Music will be provided by Marcia Jelsma as organist with congregational singing. The family is requested to meet by 12:30 at the church on Friday.

Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale's nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be: Gary Kruse, Josh Krantz, Danny Brekke, Sam Billings, Mickey Schultz and Doug Davis.

Dale was born on February 18, 1954, to Maurice and Ruth (Syren) Brekke, in Watertown. He was a 1973 graduate of Watertown High School. Dale worked at Medallion Homes from 1975 through to his retirement in 2011.

He was married to Lynn Jackman in 1988 and to this union three children were born. On June 12, 1998, Dale was united in marriage to Patricia Nickolauson in Watertown, and they had two children. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Dale enjoyed playing the piano, accordion and cello, bowling and building things, always staying busy. He liked model airplanes and Goldwing motorcycles. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Dale is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Watertown, SD; his children: Trina (Isaac) Zickler, and Benjamin Brekke, both of Spokane, WA, Andrea Bailey, of FL, Michelle Brekke and Kimberly Brekke, both of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren, and Esmee' and Everlee; three brothers: Ronald (Ramona) Brekke, of Watertown, SD, Wayne Brekke, of Elk City, OK, and Neil (Kathy) Brekke, of Watertown, SD; and two sisters: Phyllis (Harlan) Nelson, of Henry, SD, and Mary (William) Everding, of Brookings, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Brent Nelson, and his father-in-law, Delvin Nickolauson.
