Steven Rudebusch Obituary

Steven "Steve" L. Rudebusch, age 62, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Watertown.

Pastor Cliff Sheldon will officiate.

Music will be provided by Shari Kjetland as pianist and Mary Sheldon and Shari, Barry and Sara Kjetland as vocalists.

The family is requested to meet at the church on Monday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.





Visitation will be at the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Watertown on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Monday.





Burial will take place at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve's co-workers at Firestone, Merle and Maxine Buyert, Dave and Kathy Lowe and Wayne Heileman and all of his special friends.

Active pallbearers will be Dell Jacobson, Dave Pommer, Mike Paulson, Clay Kannas, Richard Clark and Ron Wilemon.





Steve was born February 1, 1955, in Webster, SD, to Eugene and Shirley (Knopf) Rudebusch.

He graduated from Summit High School in 1973.





On October 30, 1976, Steve married Janice Griepp in Watertown, SD.

The couple made their home in Watertown, where Steve worked for Fleet Wholesale and then began his career at Goodyear Tire and the Firestone Tire Company, where he had worked faithfully for the past 34 years. Steve was a man of integrity, whom everyone could trust.





He was a member of the Christian Life Assembly of God Church.

Steve was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with his friends.

He also enjoyed collecting toy tractors but most of all, cherished his time with his friends and family. To know Steve was to love him.

Upon meeting him you were no longer a stranger.





Steve is survived by his wife, Janice, of Watertown; three daughters: Amy (Skeet) Skaalen of Blair, NE, Jill (CJ) Knutson of Brookings, SD, and Monica Rudebusch of Watertown; five grandchildren: Autumn, Sadie and Wren Skaalen and Gunner and Harley Knutson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Allen and Marge Griepp, of Watertown; two brothers, Denny Rudebusch of Minneapolis, MN, and Randy (Gloria) Rudebusch of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Kathy Randall, of Watertown; one brother-in-law, Larry (Laurie) Griepp, of Watertown; three sisters-in-law: Kathy Minatra and her special friend, Tad Stricherz, of Waverly, SD, Pam Kannas and Tudy Rudebusch both of Watertown.





Steve was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and one brother-in-law, Gene Kannas.
