Harlyn Smith Obituary
Harlyn Haze Smith, 24 day old infant son of Eric and Carina (Haug) Smith, of Lake Norden, SD, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in rural Lake Norden. Lorin Lehtola will officiate.
Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., prior to services. Arrangements are being handled by the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel of Watertown, SD.
Burial will be at Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lake Norden. Pallbearers will be Harlyn's uncles: Chad Smith, Jade Smith, Cayden Haug and Bryston Haug.
Harlyn was born on December 20, 2017, in Watertown, SD, to Eric and Carina (Haug) Smith. He was born with Non-typical Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He spent three weeks of his life at Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, before returning to Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, where he was baptized into the Old Apostolic Lutheran faith along with his twin brother, Wesson. Harlyn touched many hearts in his short life.
Harlyn is survived by his parents; his brothers: Xander, Maxson and his twin, Wesson; his maternal grandparents: Stuart and Leah Haug of Bryant, SD; his paternal grandparents: Keith and Mary Smith of Lake Norden, SD; his great-grandparents: Terry and Cheryl Hilliard, Lynn and Lillian Haug, Charlie and Joann Smith and Steve and Ann Kenoyer; his aunts and uncles: Shaina (James) Schmeichel and their son, Rowen; Breana (Ryan) Ritola and their children: Elin, Slade, Keiran and Rhett; Alisha (Mason) Reddig; Jalayna Haug; Cayden Haug; Bryston Haug; Dain (Jane) Smith; Peyton (Tawni) Smith and their children: Paxton, Kierra, Keeton and Britton; Chad Smith; Brittany (Kendall) Johnson and their son, Sawyer; and Jade Smith along with a host of many relatives and friends.
